If the holes created by acupuncture heal quicker after each session, is this a good sign that it's working?

I've had shin splints for over a year and have now decided to try acupuncture. The first time, the holes from the needles took almost a whole week to heal but the second time, the holes healed after around 2 days. Is this some sign that it's working?
